Campaign Objectives

A series of case study videos provided the Centre for Road Safety the opportunity to educate businesses on the benefits of having road safety practices within their own workplace. The videos showcase a select organisations who have successfully implemented road safety policies within their workplace and how they have benefited staff and increased operational functions.

Strategy

In NSW almost 30 per cent of workplace fatalities are a result of road crashes at work. To address this statistic and to assist businesses meet their general obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the approach was to capture an insight into how businesses are benefitting from their approach to road safety in the workplace.

Essential Energy, a leader of workplace safety was selected to champion the benefits of road safety practices. Providing a company perspective, their head of fleet was interviewed in their work environment, directly to camera, while supporting footage showcased their road safety procedures.

While the additional NSW Health case study provided a more personal perspective, following a health worker on their day on the road.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this road safety project case studies was employers with business fleets, as well as TfNSW’s road safety partners.

Execution

At the time of this submission, the campaign had been delayed. The videos will reside on Towards Zero website and on TfNSW social channels and be used to educate and encourage other organisations to work with TfNSW on their own Road Safety in the Workplace policies and program.
